Justice is blind

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if this be the case then surely justice lies in the hands of the rich.

I came across this beautiful piece of Graffiti in Queens Road in Cape Town.

I’m uncertain how old the piece is but the way the light was catching it really took my breath away.

I included the fence blurred out of focus in the shot to add another effect to it, sort of like, justice is fenced off.

Anyway, take of it what you will.

Corporate Wellness Day – New Clicks Holdings

This was the first time I’d ever heard of a wellness day before.

Clicks commissioned me to photograph such a day at their Head Office in Cape Town.

Basically what happens is a few well-known health related companies and institutions come and set-up stands to give out info on various health and social issues that an employee or a family member may need help with.

Some of the things I saw included free HIV testing, smoking and lung capacity tests, general weighing and height measurements. Also, Virgin active had a stand and also brought in one of their instructors to give a class on Samba.

Other info available to staff members included drug awareness advice, debt counseling and investment advice by Old Mutual.

The Health Society of South Africa were also present to give employees advice relating to different health issues.

I feel corporate wellness days are a necessity in today’s busy environment and studies have shown that not only is a healthy worker a happy worker, but also a more productive worker as well.

Cape Town On-site photography printing

I recently did an on-site photography job for Michael from Pixelpainter.

Michael’s client, M-NET, wanted to market its new soap, The Wild, which shows Monday to Thursday at 18:00pm.

What made this mall-activation job interesting was the chosen location for the shoot which was Canal Walk in Cape Town and the fact that M-NET had stars from The Wild TV show present.

The actors did their job well, interacting with the crowd, posing for photos against the green backdrop, and even signing autographs.

You may find yourself asking how exactly did this technology work and can I make use of it for my corporate event or perhaps even to market my company’s brand?

It’s simple, members of the public are asked to stand in front of a green screen, they are then photographed and using different computer programmes, superimposed onto a pre-designed background image featuring actors from the show as well as the company’s logo and scheduled broadcast times.

The photos were then printed out on-site in a matter of minutes for the person who was photographed. From the amount of photos we captured and printed, this was obviously a great marketing idea.

I was fortunate to have a good team working with me and managed to get a nice flow from photograph to printing.

Cape Town Restaurant Winter June 2011 Specials

Looking for a great restaurant venue in Cape Town to eat out this June?

Well, you’ve come to the right place.

I recently completed photographing the June 2011 Winter Menu Special for the Harbour House restaurant as well as for Live Bait and Polana restaurants – all located at the beautiful working harbour of Kalk Bay.

The Harbour House is running their famous winter menu, 2 courses for R140 and 3 courses for R160. Choose from delicious starters like a Tian of Prawns or my favourite, Tom Yum soup which is, er, yum yum. Mains to die for include free range Namibian rib eye or Shellfish selection made up of crayfish, prawns, mussels etc. Finish it off with some warm and filling Bread & Butter pudding.

Perhaps you don’t want to do fancy and prefer a more laid back evening. Well, then why not try Polana’s gourmet double burger with chips for R50! Can’t go wrong here, I’ve already tasted three, part of the perks of the job, and each time I was satisfied.

Let’s not forget Live Bait Restaurant, Harbour House’s sister restaurant located downstairs with equally as impressive sea vistas. Here you can enjoy a Seafood Risotto for only R60!

Trust me when I say you cannot find a better restaurant special this Winter so why even try? Come, eat, relax, enjoy!

Welgelee Wedding Photography

Juanita and John got married on 26th April 2011 at Welgelee wine estate halfway between Stellenbosch and Paarl.

It was a cold and wet start to the day in Cape Town with a coldfront having hit the coastline the evening before.

Fortunately, the sun came out and despite still being a bit chilly we at least could get the formal wedding photos done.

Multichoice-event-photography

Multichoice the company that brings us DSTV in South Africa recently had their State of the Station function to inform employees of the current achievements and new targets for the company.

The function took place at the Multichoice customer care centre in Goodwood near N1 City and kicked off at 09:30 with an address and short video by the CEO.

From the various slides and presentations it seems this company is doing very well and the employees are exceeding their targets.
